Architectural Multi-Flue Shroud (Decorative)

A shroud is an appearance product and we will not pretend otherwise. What matters from a standards view is that it does not become an obstruction: a shroud sized or seated wrong restricts the flue outlet and changes draft, which is the difference between decoration and a defect. We size the opening area against the flues underneath and set it clear of the crown. If your inspection did not flag a draft problem, a shroud will not create one — and it will not fix one either.

A chase cover is not a decorative lid — it is the water barrier over a framed chase, and the code-relevant failure is what happens when it ponds. We fabricate in solid copper with a full slope and standing seams so there is no flat area to hold water and no exposed fastener penetrating the drainage plane. Copper carries no coating to fail, which is the whole argument for it. The honest limitation: copper is a finish decision as much as a performance one, and if you dislike a green patina you will not like this cover in five years.

Integrated Crown-Cap Unit (Drip-Edge Crown + Cap)

A cracked crown fails because water gets into the masonry through it. This is the assembly that removes the crown from the water path entirely: a single stainless top that caps every flue and overhangs far enough to throw runoff clear of the brick rather than down it. Where a crown rebuild restores the original detail, this supersedes it. The trade-off is visual — it reads as metal, not masonry, and on a historically detailed chimney that is a real objection.

Powered Draft System (Enervex / Exhausto Inducer + Modulating Control)

Mechanical draft is a legitimate engineered solution and it is also the point at which we have stopped fixing the chimney and started overriding it. A roof inducer with a modulating control will hold draft on a flue that cannot produce it naturally — an undersized flue, a stack shortened by a later addition, a house too tight to supply combustion air. We specify it only after the inspection has ruled out the correctable causes, because a fan on a defective flue is a powered defect.
