These are not our standards — they are the trade’s, written by bodies with no stake in your invoice. That is exactly why we quote them. Every verdict in your report cites the one it came from, so a second opinion can check our work against the same page we did.
NFPA 211
Standard for Chimneys, Fireplaces, Vents, and Solid Fuel-Burning Appliances. Every inspection checklist we run is built from it — including the 1/8-inch creosote threshold we measure before recommending any sweep, rather than recommending one on sight.

Our technicians hold CSIA certification — the chimney trade’s recognized credential, issued by the Chimney Safety Institute of America and earned by examination, not by paying a membership fee. Beyond the certificate, here is what is true on every single job.
A licensed professional where one is required
Work that requires a licensed professional — gas, electrical, or structural — is performed or signed off by one, to the code in force where you live. We do not treat licensing as a badge on a website; we treat it as a per-job requirement that follows the jurisdiction the work happens in.
A written, line-item quote before anything starts
You approve a written, line-item quote before any work begins. Each line names the defect, the fix, and the standard the fix satisfies — and you can approve any subset of it. Nothing gets added on the roof.
Photo evidence behind every finding
Photo evidence backs every finding and every completed job, delivered in a written report within 48 hours. If the chimney passes, we say so and leave — the photos and the findings are yours either way.
Licensed & insured, and documented on request
We are licensed and insured for the work we perform, and we produce a certificate of insurance on request — including additional-insured endorsements for property managers and commercial clients. Ask at [email protected].
What you will not find on this page
Paid accreditation seals and trade-association membership logos. They are bought, not earned, and none of them tells you whether your flue is safe. We would rather hand you the standard, the reading, and the photograph — and let you check.
